McCalls 7812 – Gingham Crop Top

Ya’ll, I found my new favorite summer top and I already have plans to make a few more. That’s when you know you’ve found a good one Honestly McCalls 7812 has it all. Flattering deep v-neck? Check. Cropped silhouette? Check. Cute and on-trend sleeve detail? Check and check. It looks adorable with skirts, pants, and cut off denim shorts.

On top of that, it only cost me a whopping $3! Instead of buying the fabric, I used a dress/mumu that I snagged from the thrift store. The yellow gingham caught my eye and I was sold once I realized it was made of cotton jersey. Reduce, reuse and recycle, right? I’ve included one *very flattering* before photo at the end just so you can see how far this top has come.

McCalls 7812 Pattern Information and Modifications:

PATTERN: McCalls 7812, View B – you can buy it here.
FABRIC: 100% Cotton Jersey (thrifted)
MODIFICATIONS: Surprisingly, none! This was a very quick and easy sew. The only thing that I would change is sewing a tie made out of the same material rather than a grosgrain ribbon. I just didn’t have enough fabric left after cutting out the other pattern pieces to make it work this time around.

Outfit Details:

TOP: Made By Me!
SKIRT: Old Navy (old)
SANDALS: Target (old)
